SGS stands for the Society of Graphical and Allied Trades. SGS offers many services including training, publications, advocacy, and more.  SGS is an organization which provides support to the graphic arts industry. It is a cross-sector trade association founded in 1914 with members from all areas of the graphic arts spectrum.  Its mission statement is to promote the interests of its members by advocating on their behalf on issues affecting their livelihoods.  It also offers educational programs and certifications to help grow skilled labor in this industry.  Moreover, it publishes the Journal of Graphic Arts Education (JOGAE) that features articles that relate to teaching about or in this industry.

How does the production process for cement work?

Cement is the most common material in the world. It plays a vital part in construction and other industries.  There are four main ingredients in cement which are limestone, clay, water and an alkali. The limestone is heated up with the clay to make what is called clinker. The clinker is then heated with water and an alkali which reacts to form liquid cement. These liquid mixes are then stored for use when needed.
